57.19979 Milton Friedman, Free Market Theory and the Negative Effects of Unions on Workers.
In this paper, we will examine Milton Friedman, Free Market Theory and the negative effects of Unions on workers. We will look at the role of unions and why union involvement is negative in terms of helping the workers in the long run. We will first start by understanding Friedman by defining Free Market Theory, and then trying to understand the ethical dimension of it. With this theoretical foundation, we will then proceed with our argument that unions have negative effects on workers.

58.20136 The Effect of Sports Stadiums on Economic Development
In this paper, we will discuss The Effects of Sports Stadiums on Economic Development. Everywhere in America we find that sports stadiums are being built. This trend is fueled by a considerable dose of public funding. Nationally, public subsidies for stadiums exceed $500 million a year. Oklahoma City joined the building binge by funding a new 18,000-seat arena as part of the MAPS program. Subsidies have not been limited to major league sports; many communities have built facilities for minor-league sports teams as well. In this paper we will look at several specific examples of the thinking behind why building sports stadiums will help economic development and why this thinking is often misguided and faulty.

59.20368 China?s Economy: Post-1950
In this paper, we will closely examine China?s economy after 1950. The economic development of the People's Republic of China has received attention recently for a number of reasons. Firstly, the country's immense size, the fact that in 1990 China's population stood at 1.13 billion, means that one country's development path involves almost one third of the total world population (Simpson). Secondly, China's unique approach to development is entirely different to any other developing country's socially, politically and economically. Any decisions made concerning development strategies conform to the Marxist ideological Doctrine and that this approach sought not only to transform the economy, but to change the entire structure of society.

60.20504 The End of the Glass Steagall Act
In 1933, the cross-pollination of banking and securities activities was blamed for the Great Depression and measures were taken to see that this never occurred again (Crowley, Online). One such measure was the Glass-Steagall legislation. The legislation has been the object of ?finger-wagging? since, especially from large banking institutions. However, many would argue that it not only served its original purpose but also gave rise to the banking system of today. In the end, the Glass-Steagall era may have finally come to a close, but the foundation that was built on the back of this legislation created a solid structure of modern banking which eventually became stable enough to illicit its demise.

63.20849 The School Voucher Debate as Seen by Two Leading Economists
This paper compares and contrasts the position of two leading economists of widely divergent backgrounds on school vouchers and public funding of education in general. Milton Friedman, a neo-classical economic liberal, puts forth the view that such funds should only go to for-profit schools, Nancy Folbre, a feminist economist, views public schools as a necessary adjunct to the "productive" work of child rearing and contends that vouchers would only undermine urgently needed public school reform.
